Changes in OpenFIT
We have made some changes to the reports options in OpenFIT, based on feedback from users. You still have access to the same statistics but they are presented in a simpler format in the new version.
There are now two reporting options and an option to export data for reporting and analysis in a separate software system.
- Statistics Report option – This option gives you access to statistics reports that show data on the utilization and effectiveness of your service.
- User Statistics option – This option provides statistics and information about clinicians use of OpenFIT, for example when they last logged in, number of clients surveys, number of surveys collected etc. This option supports implementation of FIT by identifying clinicians who are routinely gathering feedback from their clients.
- Export data option –This option allows you to export your data from OpenFIT so you can analyse it further in Excel or some other software system. Please note the scatterplot report is not available at present. We are preparing a newer version which will be released in a later update.
Descriptions of new reporting options
The Statistics Report provides utilization and outcome statistics for an individual user, location or agency depending on what filters are selected/enabled.
The Statistics report has 4 different sections which are described in detail below.
1. Left column
This section of the screen “1” shows utilization statistics including number of clients, number of episodes/cases, number of surveys etc. The statistics in this column change depending on what filters you select in the filter section in the right section of the screen “3”.
Here is a description of the statistics in this column:
2. Right column
This section of the screen “2” shows feedback and outcome statistics including average intake ORS,average intake SRS, average raw change ORS etc. The statistics in this column change depending on what filters you select in the filter section in the right section of the screen “3”. If you change the filters for users, location, case status etc then these numbers will change. If “All” is selected in the user filter it will show you feedback and outcome statistics for the entire agency.
Here is a description of the statistics in this column.
Average intake ORS
The mean baseline ORS of clients
Average intake SRS
The mean baseline SRS of clients
Average Raw change ORS
The last session ORS score minus the first session ORS score
Percentage Reaching Target
Percentage reaching target calculates the percentage of clients above the predictive trajectory of successful cases (in the green zone).
Raw Effect Size
Effect size calculates the effect of treatment compared to no treatment.
Severity Adjusted Effect Size
The effect of treatment when correcting for the number of session, regression to the mean, case severity at intake and bias.
This sections allows you to identify utilization and outcome date for specific users, locations, case status, rater types, etc. Depending on what filters are selected, the data will vary. Using the filters in this section you can select specific data you wish to examine.
Please note that If your user role is a clinician you will not be able to select other users here. Administrators can select data for all users in the agency or location that they are an administrator for. You can filter data by the following:
If you select all users and you are an administrator then the data will display for the agency or location you are an administrator for. If your user role is a clinician you will only be able to see your own data and you will not be able to select other users.
If you are an administrator and you wish to view one or more clinician’s statistics you can select them individually in the drop down menu.
Administrators have access to view all locations. If an administrators selects a certain location then they will only see the statisticis for the team in this location. If your user role is a clinician you will only be able to see your own location here and you will not be able to select other locations. Other OpenFIT roles such as administrator location and clinical supervisor can only select their own location.
If you do not select any case status then the report will provide you with data for all cases including open, closed planned, and closed unplanned cases. If you would like a report on clients that dropped out early and that you marked as closed unplanned then you select closed unplanned.
The default filter will combine data from both clients and their collateral raters To look at client data you must select to filter out collateral rater data.
You need to select the date range for the cases you wish to see utilization and outcomes statistics for. When you select a start date you will only see cases that were created on or after that date.
When you select an end date you will only see cases that were created up to that date. This defaults to today’s date.
Tags are a special function in OpenFIT whereby you can label certain episodes/cases so that you can use the filter function to select them later in the statistics report. For example you may wish to see statistics about specific treatments such as a CBT treatment programmes or an outpatient service that certain cases were assigned to. You can view statistics for these tags by selecting them in the dropdown menu.
Tags are a special function in OpenFIT whereby you can label certain clients so that you can filter them out. For example you may wish to examine reports about a specific types of clients such as Dual Diagnosis clients or clients that belong to a specific diagnostic criteria.
This top menu enables you to do a variety of things including printing reports and exporting reports data..
See the labels in the image below to view the functions of the buttons in the top menu.

User Statistics Report
This User Statistics section provides specific information about the use of FIT by registered users, for example when they last logged in, how many clients they are asking for feedback from, and how many surveys they have collected. This can be helpful to review how the team are doing in implementing FIT.
FIT implementation should not solely be focused on just getting clinicians to administer measures. The real benefit of FIT comes from discussing feedback with clients and reviewing feedback in supervision.
We have updated our user guide (here) to further explain how to generate reports in OpenFIT.

We hope that these changes will make it easier for you to interpret your data and support your FIT implementation.
